Overview

DigiClippy is a coupon clipping assistant that helps you automatically clip digital coupons from your favorite stores. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data We Collect

DigiClippy collects and stores minimal data on your device:

  • Store login credentials (username/password) - stored securely on your device using encrypted storage
  • App preferences and settings
  • Tutorial completion status

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect personal information, except an email address you choose to give us (for example, when you contact us or use Diagnostic Mode)
  • We do not track your browsing activity
  • We do not collect analytics or usage data about your browsing or clipping activity
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking
  • We do not have access to your store accounts

How Your Data is Stored

Your store credentials are stored locally on your device using Secure Storage, which utilizes the platform's secure storage mechanisms (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android). Your credentials never leave your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

Network Connections

DigiClippy makes the following network connections:

  • Store websites - When you browse and clip coupons, you connect directly to store websites through an in-app browser
  • Ruleset updates - The app periodically checks for coupon clipping ruleset updates from our server (digiclippy.com). No personal data is sent during these requests.

Third-Party Services

When you use DigiClippy to visit store websites, those stores may have their own privacy policies and data collection practices. We encourage you to review each store's privacy policy. DigiClippy has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.

Subscriptions and Purchases

DigiClippy offers optional paid subscriptions. When you start a free trial, subscribe, or restore a purchase, the transaction is handled by the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) and by our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat, which we use to unlock access and keep your subscription in sync across your devices.

For this we process your purchase history (which plan you have and its status) together with an anonymous, app-generated identifier. This is not tied to your name or email, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. Your payment details are handled entirely by the app store — we never see or store your card information.

Diagnostic Mode

Diagnostic Mode is an optional support tool that helps us fix a problem you're having signing in to a store or clipping coupons. It is never on by default — it runs only when you choose to start it and agree on the consent screen, and we collect the information below only with your consent.

What it collects. When you run a diagnostic and tap "Send report," we receive a report containing:

  • The contact email you type on the consent screen, so we can follow up with you.
  • Device and app information: your device model, operating system version, the WebView/browser-component version, your app version, and your update (ruleset) version.
  • A sanitized, timestamped record of the diagnostic session: the steps taken (buttons tapped and pages visited, by name or URL only), whether each stage succeeded or failed, whether your store sign-in was saved on your device, and which of the store's servers your session contacted and whether each responded successfully, including brief error messages when one fails.

What it does not collect. The diagnostic is built to record structure, never secrets. It never collects:

  • Your store password, or any login credentials, tokens, or session keys.
  • The actual text you type into any field. For sign-in fields we record only whether the value looks validly formatted (for example, "email format looks valid: yes/no") — never the value itself.
  • The contents of your stored sign-in session, or the full contents of the data exchanged with the store's servers.

How it's handled. The report is assembled only while your diagnostic session is active and is held in your device's memory — it is not saved to storage. Nothing leaves your device unless you tap "Send report"; if you exit without sending, the report is discarded. It is then sent to our support by email over a secure connection.

How we use it and how long we keep it. We use your report only to investigate and fix the issue you reported and to reply to you at the email you provided. We do not sell it, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising or tracking. We keep it only as long as we need to resolve your issue, then delete it. You can ask us to delete your report at any time by emailing contact@digiclippy.com.

Data Deletion

You can delete your stored credentials at any time through the "Passwords" menu in the app. Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data.

Children's Privacy

DigiClippy is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy in the app and on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
